 What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture involves inserting very fine needles into specific points on the body known for their ability to adjust Qi (energy) functioning and flow. Acupuncture works well for pain relief and in a wide range of internal conditions. An acupuncture session will typically be used in combination with other forms of treatment such as cupping, guasha, and Chinese massage (tuina). Generally, acupuncture is painless, however a variety of sensations may be experienced which typically indicate the alteration of Qi flow.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) has been used to

diagnose, prevent and treat illness for thousands of years.

 

It is a unique system of medicine based on the detailed observation of bodily functions, signs, and symptoms. Through the application of acupuncture, acupressure, diet, massage, and medicinal herbs, the physical and energy processes of the body to realign and balance the body systems.
